In pursuit of its fourth straight Section 1A title, third-seeded Zumbrota-Mazeppa returns to the section semifinals after defeating No. 6 Wabasha-Kellogg 42-25 Thursday in Mazeppa.
Results from the match were not available on Thursday.
With the win, the Cougars face No. 2-seed Kenyon-Wanamingo at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester. The semifinal matchup is a rematch of last year’s section final, which Z-M won 33-31 after winning the 285-pound match via major decision.
In the first match at Mazeppa, W-K advanced with a 48-19 victory over 11th-seeded Fillmore Central.
