Business notebook: Anderst joins bank board; Borgen at national meeting

Donna R. Anderst has been appointed to the Merchants Bank Advisory Board of Directors for Cannon Falls, Red Wing and Hampton, Regional President Greg Evans announced.

Donna R. Anderst has been appointed to the Merchants Bank Advisory Board of Directors for Cannon Falls, Red Wing and Hampton, Regional President Greg Evans announced.

Anderst is the president, CEO and majority stockholder of SCS-AIM, a supplier of plastic-injection molded, die-cast and metal-stamped products. The Red Wing based company specializes in elevator signage and other products.

• Red Wing High School Principal Beth Borgen recently attended a meeting of the National Association of Student Councils Advisory Board. The board met in Reston, Va., home of the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

• Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has been named one of America’s top workplaces by WorkplaceDynamics. Thrivent Financial ranked No. 97 nationwide among 872 organizations with more than 1,000 employees that participated in regional top workplaces programs.

The National Top Workplaces list was determined solely by feedback gathered through employee survey results. The survey was conducted by WorkplaceDynamics in conjunction with 30 leading regional newspapers.

• Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation and state members received national recognition at the American Farm Bureau Federation's annual meeting last month in Nashville, Tenn.

The state group received awards of excellence in the following categories: education and outreach; leadership development; and public relations and communications.
