To the Editor:
At ArtReach, we believe that creative expression is a fundamental need of all people that contributes to our community’s quality of life. Our mission is simple: to provide access to the arts and the enrichment that it brings.
One of the areas that we have been trying to focus on in 2012 and 2013 is the organization and implementation of several community art projects in Red Wing. We hope that by organizing these projects, we can encourage not only creativity, but also build on the feeling of community in Red Wing.
Art is a universal language and we believe it can be a powerful means to bring together people in all areas of life to work toward one common goal that will also beautify our lovely city.
We would like to invite you to gather a “team” together to join us for our first community art event of 2013 - snow sculptures. Mother Nature will provide the snow, we’ll provide the color, and you provide the shovels and creativity. Bring your team Monday Feb. 18 to Central Park anytime from 2 to 5 p.m. and enjoy some fun in the snow as you create your sculpture.
We encourage teams from local organizations, churches, schools, families, friends, businesses, etc. to join us as we celebrate winter ArtReach-style!
There is no need to RSVP, but if you plan on coming we’d love to know. We hope to see you there.
