Wrestling: Bombers close regular season with win

Opening its Hiawatha Valley League match against Stewartville with a 25-0 lead, Cannon Falls/Randolph cruised to a 48-24 victory Thursday in Stewartville.

During the 25-0 run, Paul Fitterer (106 pounds), Tyler Wilson (120) and Connor Rohr (132) each won via pinfall.

After a Tigers victory at 138, Cole Grosland got the Bombers back in the win column with a pinfall in 59 seconds, sparking a 16-point run. Sterling Carlson won via decision at 152 pounds, and Derek Johnson and Justin Miest each took major decisions at 160 and 170, respectively.

At 220 pounds, Clay Broze continued his undefeated season for Cannon Falls/Randolph with a pinfall in 2:36.

The Bombers are back on the mat Thursday for the opening day of the Section 1AA tournament. Seedings will be announced on Monday.
