Lake City scored two points in the first three minutes of Tuesday’s game against Triton but went on a 43-9 run in the next 9 minutes, 9 seconds on the way to a 77-37 win in Lake City.
The Tigers (16-3, 9-1 HVL Blue) had five players finish with two or more steals as they forced the Cobras into 24 turnovers.
Ben Schramski had 19 points and knocked down five 3-pointers, all in the first half, to lead Lake City. Reid Lundell contributed 15 points and Brady Kuchinka finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Jake Griebenow notched 12 points. The Tigers had a 33-12 advantage in points off turnovers and shot 8 of 13 from behind the 3-point line in the victory.
Triton (2-17, 0-10 HVL Blue) shot just 10-for-40 from the field and did not have a player score in double figures. Zachary Otto and Garrett Dahms each scored nine points for the Cobras.
Lake City is off until next Tuesday on the road against Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
