Zumbrota-Mazeppa moved to 6-2 in the Hiawatha Valley League Blue Division and 10-8 overall on Tuesday after pulling away with a 50-37 victory over Kenyon-Wanamingo in Kenyon.
Shooting 20 of 49 from the field, the Cougars were led by Lucas Ziemba’s 18 points. Kevin Niebuhr added 11 points and six rebounds, and Nathaniel Rauen had nine points, six rebounds and five steals in the victory.
On Friday, Z-M hosts Cannon Falls in a battle of two of the top teams in the HVL Blue.
