Robert Carl Zimdars, 77, of Red Wing, Minn., passed away at the Seminary Home on Feb. 2.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at New River Assembly of God. The funeral service, with visitation 1 hour prior, will also be held at the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8. Pastor Tom Johnson will be officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Robert was born in Oshkosh, Wis., on Jan. 23, 1936, to Carl and Esther Zimdars. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1962 after serving 8 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He completed various courses - college, correspondence, night school, and seminars - in accounting, engineering, supervision, and management subjects.
Robert worked in the engineering department at Red Wing Shoe Co., retiring in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion Post 54 and a member of American Institute of Industrial Engineers. He was an active member of New River Assembly of God.
Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Arlyn; children, Robert Jr. (Cindy) of Red Wing, Richard (Jennie) of Tampa, Fla., and Rachel Paredes (Manuel) of Eagan; four grandchildren, Jacob, Zack, Amanda, and Aaron. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Diane Zimdars.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to New River Foyer Fund or American Bible Society.
