A second-half outburst by Goodhue extended a halftime lead and the Wildcats ran away with a 58-36 victory Tuesday at home against Pine Island.
Zach Hinsch scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Goodhue (8-10, 3-6 HVL Blue). Riley Bollum tallied 17 points on 5 of 6 shooting from the field and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line and also added three rebounds and two steals in the win. Tyler Schumacher finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Tyson Dicke contributed seven points, six rebounds, two blocks and three steals.
The Panthers (4-11, 2-6 HVL Blue) were led by Colton Sinning with 17 points but no other player scored in double figures. Casey Sather had five points and eight rebounds in the loss.
The Wildcats led 26-21 at halftime and held Pine Island to just 27 percent shooting, including 17 percent inside the 3-point line.
Goodhue will play Cannon Falls Tuesday in Goodhue.
