Red Wing’s two consecutive victories were spoiled Wednesday as the Wingers were defeated 8-1 by Holy Angels at Prairie Island Arena in Red Wing.
The Stars outshot Red Wing 64-30 in the victory.
Mario Bianchi gave Holy Angels a 1-0 victory at the end of the first period.
The Stars took a 2-0 lead 39 seconds into the second period on a goal by Tony Haeg before the Wingers’ Tristan Rehder cut the deficit to 2-1 at 7:47 on an assist to Ryan Rehder.
Bianchi tallied two straight goals and Haeg scored again to give Holy Angels a 5-1 lead into the second intermission.
Marshall Barnes netted a goal at 5:13 of the third period to establish a 6-1 lead for the Stars and Holy Angels added two more power-play goals to finish the final period.
Preston Blaney made 56 saves for Red Wing in the loss.
