Spotlight:Long Time Gone, a local favorite bluegrass band, will perform at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing at noon Thursday Feb. 7 in the Garden View Café.
Performing together for 13 years, Long Time Gone came together out of a love for the classic bluegrass and old-time string band tunes.
“We really enjoy playing together, and we like to get out once in a while,” band member Ben Manning said. “Long Time Gone represents the sound and band camaraderie that we had all been looking to find for a long time. The enjoyment and ‘comfort zone’ of the band clearly comes through in the music we make together.”
The Sheldon Presents offers performances on the first Thursday of each month at noon at the medical center. The series is free and open to the public.
“This series allows us to bring music to our patients, staff and visitors as part of the healing environment at the medical center,” said Nancy Dimunation, chief nursing officer at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. “We have been pleased to present a variety of music over the past 18 months and Long Time Gone was one of the most popular of the series. I’m looking forward to their return.”
