Sparked by a 21-point effort by Chrystian Kulow, Ellsworth snapped a three-game losing streak with a 59-52 victory over Amery in Middle Border Conference play Friday in Ellsworth.
Leading 43-34 after three quarters, the Panthers hit free throws down the stretch to hold off Amery. Alex Campbell added 12 points, and Will Huppert snatched seven rebounds in the victory.
Amery was led by Jordan Luehman’s 21 points. Justin Smith added 14 in the loss.
Ellsworth (5-11, 2-7 Middle Border) heads to Durand on Monday to resume conference play.
