Offensive woes continued for the Red Wing girls basketball team on Friday as the Wingers dropped their second straight game in a 49-46 loss at Shakopee.

The Sabers came out in a 1-3-1 zone, and then switched to a 1-2-2 zone in the second half, hampering Red Wing’s shooters in the process.

“We never made a run,” said Wingers coach Dave Muelken. “A couple of times we were close and we just didn’t make enough shots against the zone.”

Macy Kelly led Red Wing (14-4, 6-2 Missota) with 17 points, while Tesha Buck added 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Hanna Zerr led the Sabers with 15.

The Wingers host Albert Lea on Tuesday.
