Cannon Falls got its first win of the season Thursday night with the victory over Hope Academy. To make the win even more enjoyable, all 11 girls that played for the Bombers scored at least one point in the non-conference game.

“It’s our first win of the year and it was nice to get that,” Bombers coach Eric Mace said. “It was our best overall game of the season.

“It was nice to see our aggressiveness and to see us doing the things that we’ve been working on in practice in the game. We have had some growth this season.”

Junior Maggie Rutter led Cannon Falls with 14 points and six rebounds. Junior Courtney Woodcock also scored double digits with 11 points. Teammates Erica Berg and Leah Meyers each added six points. Freshman Maddie Adel tallied six rebounds and three steals.

Cannon Falls (1-16 overall) resumes action Friday at Pine Island.
