Girls Basketball: Lake City tops Lourdes in overtime

Led by freshman post Madi Green’s 23 points, Lake City was able to secure a 63-58 overtime win over Rochester Lourdes on Tuesday in Lake City.

Fellow post player Taylor Koller added 16 points for the Tigers, while guard Breanna Gates dropped 15 in the victory. Helping Lake City gain momentum after halftime was Bailey Cronin, who finished with seven points.

“Bailey stepped up for us in the second half and in overtime,” said Tigers head coach Candace Olstad. “It was a hard, defensive-fought battle for both teams tonight.”

Megan Hobday had a team-high 16 points for the Eagles, and Sara Hobday had 12 in the loss.

Lake City returns to Hiawatha Valley League Blue Division action Friday at Goodhue. Earlier this season, Goodhue knocked off the Tigers 63-46 in Lake City.
