Chanhassen shot better than 50 percent inside the 3-point line Tuesday night as the Storm defeated Red Wing 70-61 in Chanhassen.

The Wingers also shot well from the field, 20-for-47 overall, but had trouble getting stops on the defensive end, Red Wing head coach Doug Toivonen said.

“They got way too many shots inside the paint,” he said. “Defensively tonight it was our poorest effort. We just didn’t get any stops when we needed to so it was very frustrating to watch.”

Chanhassen (7-8, 1-3 Missota) had seven players score eight or more points led by Carson Heinz with 14 points. The Storm also held a 33-22 rebounding edge in Tuesday’s win.

Ty Buck led the Wingers (8-6, 1-3 Missota) with 21 points, six rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks. Isaac Toivonen had 13 points and Jon Sevlie finished with 10 points.

Red Wing trailed 37-36 at halftime.

The Wingers play at home Thursday against Shakopee.
