Pounding the ball in the paint, 8th-ranked (2A) Rochester Lourdes shot 63 percent from the floor in an 83-58 victory over Lake City Tuesday in Rochester.
Jacob Schaefer, a 6-foot-7 center, patrolled the paint for the Eagles (11-4) to the tune of 31 points and eight rebounds. Mark Pagel (12 points), Kyle Kapraun (12), Alex Glynn (11), and Dan Sloan (10) also scored in double figures.
Jake Griebenow and Reid Lundell paced the Tigers, scoring 14 points apiece. Ben Schramski added 11, but Lake City struggled on offense, shooting 37.5 percent from the field, including 4 of 16 from 3-point range.
Losers of two straight, the Tigers (13-3) resume Hiawatha Valley League Blue Division play Friday, hosting Goodhue.
