Wrestling: Bombers win 7 titles at Henry Sibley invite

With seven first-place finishers, the Cannon Falls/Randolph wrestling team dominated the field at Saturday’s Henry Sibley Invite, taking the team title with a score of 256.5.

With seven first-place finishers, the Cannon Falls/Randolph wrestling team dominated the field at Saturday’s Henry Sibley Invite, taking the team title with a score of 256.5.

Waconia (206), Henry Sibley (170.5), Burnsville (137) and Spring Lake Park (109) rounded out the top five in the eight-team field.

Paul Fitterer improved his record to 23-0 this season after taking the 106-pound title in a 6-0 decision against Burnsville’s Michael Ramirez. The win started a string of four straight first-place finishes for the Bombers, as Ryan Epps (113 pounds), Tyler Wilson (120) and Keston Lopez (126) also won their respective weight class titles.

Roman Wundrow also clinched a first-place spot for Cannon Falls/Randolph at 138 pounds, and Justin Miest won by pinfall in the first period for the 170-pound title. Clay Broze improved to 24-0 after pinning Spring Lake Park/St. Anthony’s Jeremiah Labelle in 1 minute, 55 seconds for the 220-pound title.
