Lake City held a slim lead at halftime Tuesday at Kenyon-Wanamingo but the Knights separated from the Tigers at the beginning of the second half to grab a 64-52 victory.
Siri Sviggum had 25 points to lead K-W, Audra Clark scored 14 points and Meg Clark added 12 points in the win.
“A lot of the second chances we gave them, that was the major thing down the stretch,” Lake City head coach Candace Olstad said.
Ninth-grader Madi Green got into foul trouble but still led the Tigers (9-6, 3-3 HVL Blue) with 16 points and continues to impress the Lake City coaching staff.
“She’s just a phenomenal athlete in general,” Olstad said. “She’s got the size and the natural ability. It’s great; she’s going to be a key factor for us for many years to come.”
Breanna Gates and Taylor Koller each finished with 14 points for the Tigers.
Lake City hosts Cannon Falls Friday.
