Forcing Pine Island into 18 turnovers, Goodhue’s defense set the tone in a 61-42 Hiawatha Valley League Blue division victory Tuesday in Pine Island for the Wildcats’ first conference win of the season.
“(Tyson) Dicke and (Zach) Hinsch went after their two best players and held them below their season averages,” said Goodhue head coach Tony Poncelet. “It was a great team effort offensively, and a great team effort defensively.”
Dicke also led the Wildcats on offense with a team-high 18 points. Tyler Schumacher added 11 points, while Dillon Huemann and Austin Buck added eight and seven, respectively.
