DEED gains deputy commissioner

Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Katie Clark Sieben announced the appointment of Cynthia L. Bauerly as deputy commissioner of Workforce Development. Bauerly returns to Minnesota after serving in key leadership and management roles in Washington, D.C., most recently as a commissioner of the Federal Election Commission and serving as chair of the agency in 2011.

Bauerly returns to Minnesota after serving in key leadership and management roles in Washington, D.C., most recently as a commissioner of the Federal Election Commission and serving as chair of the agency in 2011.

Bauerly's resignation from the FEC is effective Feb. 1; she will assume her new role at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development on Feb. 25. DEED is the state's principal economic development agency, promoting business recruitment, expansion and retention, workforce development, international trade and community development.
