MLK celebration set for Jan. 21

The Red Wing Human Rights Commission will hold a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at 7 p.m. Monday Jan. 21 in the Justice Center’s Jury Assembly Room.

The event will feature a video of King’s last speech, which was delivered one day before his assassination on April 4, 1968. Following the video, Judge Larry Clark and Goodhue County Public Defender Doug Bayley will speak about racial disparities in the state’s criminal justice system.
