Man arrested after alleged assault

A 26-year-old Pine Island man was arrested early Monday after allegedly assaulting a man in a Zumbrota trailer court, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Jonathan Lee Closner was booked into the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center on second-degree assault charges.

Goodhue County deputies and Zumbrota Police responded to Ponderosa Trailer Court, lot 44 at about 4:30 a.m. They found a 20-year-old man who had been assaulted.

The injured man was not identified by the sheriff’s office. He was brought to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester; his condition was not available.

Formal charges against Closner are expected to be filed tomorrow.
