Dorothy Siepelmeyer, 87

Dorothy Jane Siepelmeyer, 87, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Jan. 13, at Red Wing Health Center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Chatfield, Minn., daughter of Howard and Susan (Anway) Lifto. She moved to Red Wing as a small child and attended schools in Red Wing. On March 1, 1945, she was married to Wilbur "Bud" Tri. The couple made their home in Alaska for 18 years where they homesteaded and she was a homemaker. Bud died June 27, 1966. On Aug. 8, 1981, she married Donald Siepelmeyer. He died on June 29, 2011.

Dorothy was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and in her spare time enjoyed painting, drawing, crafts, traveling with Don, and gardening.

She is survived by nine children, Dawn (Frank) Hince of Bay City, Wis., Virginia (Bernard) Linder of Red Wing, Allen (Annette) Tri and Guy (Marja) Tri, both from Alaska, Eddy (Pat) Tri of Red Wing, Dale (Sheila) Tri of Hager City, Wis., Tony Tri of St. Peter, Dianna (Dan) Morth of Ellsworth, Wis., Denise (Dan) Kocher of Hastings; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; numerous stepchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd (Zita) Lifto of Palm Springs.

She was preceded in death by two husbands; her parents; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine (Larson) Severson and Kay (Magnuson) Robinson.

Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Church of St. Joseph, with Father Thomas Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association or Red Wing Health Center, Memory Care Unit.
