Red Wing took sixth place out of eight teams in the Silver Division at Saturday’s 16-team invite at River Falls High School.
Rice Lake Cumberland took first place in the Gold Division with a 133.925 and Stewartville won the Silver Division with a 127.475.
The Wingers scored a 116.575.
“We struggled today,” Red Wing head coach Megan Latch said. “We’ve been working really hard on our jumps on beam but we’ve just had a hard time staying on. We had a couple falls on each event that we had to count which hurt us.”
Irina Anderson was the Wingers’ top all-around competitor in the Silver Division with a 29.25. She was ninth on the floor exercise with an 8.0. Molly Hart took 13th in the all-around with a score of 28.95 and Carlie Sandstrom was 14th with a 28.70. Shayna Ramstad scored an 8.4 for eighth place on vault.
Red Wing’s Morgan Hughes missed the meet due to illness.
“That hurts,” Latch said. “She’s one of our best on beam and vault.”
The Wingers next meet is Friday at New Prague.
