Vehicle engulfed in smoke on Buchanan

Police reported to the 600 block of Buchanan Street at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about a vehicle on fire, Red Wing Police Chief Roger Pohlman said.

A 1997 Pontiac Bonneville parked at 601 Buchanan St. was engulfed in smoke, with fire dropping onto the road from the vehicle’s engine compartment, Pohlman said.

According to the Red Wing Fire Department, the car was owned by Kristina Plank of Red Wing. It was a total loss.
