The Twin Bluff Middle School sixth- and seventh-grade bands will perform at 7 p.m. Monday Jan. 14. The free concert will take place in Red Wing High School’s Hovda Hall.

This is the sixth-grade band’s premier performance. The students started on band instruments in mid-August. The group rehearses every other day and has small group lessons on a six-day rotation.

The band will perform several selections including “Royal Crown March,” “Big Rock Candy Mountain,” “Boot Scootin' Barndance,” “Rio Bravo” and “Dr. Rock.” Band members also will play exercises from their "Standard of Excellence" book to demonstrate the progress they have made.

The seventh-grade band will perform “Stanley River Overture,” “Battle Song,” “Dawn Dance,” “African Festival” and Dark Odyssey.

Milt Hovelson and Ken Roberts conduct the Twin Bluff Bands.
