Goodhue tested 10th-ranked (1A) Bethlehem Academy Thursday in Faribault but the Cardinals came away with a 51-45 victory.
Bethlehem Academy (8-3) did most of its damage at the free-throw line, going 14-for-20. The Wildcats (4-8, 0-4 HVL Blue) made just 1 of 4 free throws in the loss.
Tyler Schumacher led Goodhue with 12 points, Tyson Dicke had 10 points and Zach Hinsch finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Dillon Huemann contributed 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Cardinals were led by Kyle Fitzen with 14 points and two steals. Adam Clark tallied 12 points and three rebounds while Tim Angell provided five points and nine rebounds in the win.
The Wildcats play Spring Grove Saturday on the road.
