Red Wing School Board briefs

From the meeting of Jan. 7, 2013.

Jones elected board chair, officers elected

Heidi Jones, who officially began her second term on the board Monday night, was unanimously elected board chair. Jones previously served as chair in 2010 and 2011.

Mike Christensen was elected vice chair, Paul Kramp was re-elected treasurer and Brad Johnson will continue to serve as clerk.

“We're not doing this for the money, as far as I can tell,” Board member Mike Christensen said of not raising the board’s pay.

In separate agenda items, the board also approved its 2013 meeting schedule and calendar, named the Republican Eagle its official newspaper and designated depositories for district transactions and investments.
