Boys Hockey: Wingers' woes continue in loss to Chanhassen

Red Wing boys hockey’s winless streak increased to 11 games after a 4-2 Missota Conference loss to Chanhassen Tuesday in Victoria.

The Storm struck first when Logan Wilkinson knocked in a goal 7 minutes, 15 seconds into the first half. Over seven minutes later, the Wingers tied the game up when Tyler Rea put in his fifth goal of the season. Mitch Ramstad and Kyle LaPorte each tallied assists on Rea’s goal.

In the second period, Jake Bever put the game firmly in Chanhassen’s grasps with a pair of goals. The Storm went up 3-1 despite being outshot 10-4 in the second period.

Chanhassen (4-9, 2-2 Missota) went ahead 4-1 with a goal by Cody Seal at 5:44 of the third period. With time winding down in the game, Red Wing’s Alex Rezansoff scored his team-high seventh goal of the year off assists from Nick Sammon and Taylor Hanson.

The Wingers (0-11-1, 0-2-1 Missota) continue conference play on Jan. 15 at New Prague before returning home on Jan. 17 against Chaska.
