Boys Basketball: Schramski's big night puts Tigers past Wildcats

Lake City’s Ben Schramski scored 22 of his career-high 26 points in the first half Tuesday, helping the Tigers to their 11th straight win in a 76-63 Hiawatha Valley League Blue division decision over Goodhue.
The win was the Tigers’ first in Goodhue since 1999.
Jake Griebenow added 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists, while Reid Lundell and Brady Kuchinka each had double-digit points with 12 and 11, respectively.
Goodhue led 13-6 before Lake City (11-1, 4-0 HVL Blue) went on a 19-4 run that put the game firmly in the Tigers’ corner.
Leading the Wildcats (4-7, 0-4 HVL Blue) was Tyler Schumacher with 15 points. Tyson Dicke added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Zach Hinsch dropped 10 points and grabbed seven boards.
Lake City hosts Zumbrota-Mazeppa on Friday in a battle between the HVL Blue’s top two teams. Goodhue travels to Faribault Thursday to play Bethlehem Academy.
