Girls Basketball: Cougars roll past Triton

Alyssa Stehr tallied a career-high 16 points, and Molly Lawler scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Zumbrota-Mazeppa come away with a 54-40 victory over Triton in a Hiawatha Valley League Blue division game in Dodge City.

Alyssa Stehr tallied a career-high 16 points, and Molly Lawler scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help Zumbrota-Mazeppa come away with a 54-40 victory over Triton in a Hiawatha Valley League Blue division game in Dodge Center.

Carley Henning had 10 points as the Cougars (4-8, 1-2 HVL Blue) shot 47 percent from the field in the first half.

Triton was led by Emily Weber’s 15 points. Despite shooting for 31 percent in the second half, Z-M outscored the Cobras 24-15 in the second half.

The Cougars host Lake City on Friday.
