Dennison adopts social host ordinance

The mandatory alcohol seller/server training and social host ordinances adopted by the city of Dennison in November officially went into effect Jan. 1.

The alcohol seller/server training ordinance requires all sellers and servers of liquor to complete a responsible beverage service training course annually before serving or selling liquor at local establishments.

The social host ordinance makes it a misdemeanor for people to knowingly allow minors to obtain, possess or consume alcoholic beverages at private residences or private premises.

The city of Dennison is the latest of many Goodhue County jurisdictions to implement both of the ordinances.
