Bernice Buck, 94

Bernice Cecelia Buck, age 94, of Crosby, Minn., and formerly a longtime Goodhue resident, passed away on Thursday morning, Jan. 3, at Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.

Bernice was born on Dec. 24, 1918, in Goodhue, the daughter of Fredrick E. and Sadie (Stemman) Buck. She married Howard Buck in July 1946 in Goodhue. For many years, she co-owned the Goodhue Feed and Produce with Harold Lensch. She also bartended at Toby's Corner Bar and was a hostess at Sawyer's Inn in Goodhue.

Bernice was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. She loved traveling and enjoyed any trip, short or long! She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed needlework. After retirement, she moved closer to her children and lived in Mora and Deerwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sadie Buck; husband, Howard, in 1981; sisters, Phyllis Bartlett, Gladys Olson, and Isabel Johnson; and brothers, Donald, Burton and Wayne "Toby" Buck.

She is survived by her son, Lee and Cindy Buck of Mora; daughter, Delores "Lori" and Patrick Nilo of Deerwood; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 702 3rd Ave., Goodhue, with Pastor Randall Kuznicki officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Goodhue. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and Monday from 10-11 a.m., all at church.

Memorials may be given in memory of Bernice to Evergreen Cemetery, Alzheimer's Association, or donor's choice.
