Girls Basketball: Goodhue blows out Cannon Falls

Eleven players scored for Goodhue Thursday in a 76-32 victory against Cannon Falls in Goodhue.

Mikayla Miller had 14 points to go along with five rebounds and four steals for the Wildcats (11-1, 3-0 HVL Blue). Emilee Roschen and Shelby Hinsch each tallied 11 points, Kali Ryan scored 10 points and Mikayla Tipcke finished with nine. Meredith Watson contributed six points and nine rebounds in the win.

Second-ranked (1A) Goodhue shot 52 percent from the field and had 18 steals.

Callie Loeschke and Grace Rutter each scored seven points to lead the Bombers (0-12, 0-1 HVL Blue). Cannon Falls made just 8 of 32 shots and committed 31 turnovers.

The Bombers travel to face Pine Island Tuesday and Goodhue faces Lake City on the road Tuesday.

“That’ll be a good test,” Goodhue head coach Josh Wieme said. “Lake City always plays well at home.”
