Wrestling: Cannon Falls too much for La Crescent

The Cannon Falls wrestling team overwhelmed La Crescent Thursday night in a 58-3 win in Cannon Falls.

The Cannon Falls wrestling team overwhelmed La Crescent Thursday night in a 58-3 win in Cannon Falls.

The Bombers dropped just one match in the victory.

Paul Fitterer started Cannon Falls out on a good note with a pinfall 2 minutes, 42 seconds into his match at 106 pounds, and the Bombers got two forfeit victories at 113 pounds and 120 to take an 18-0 lead. Keston Lopez followed with a 4-0 decision at 126 pounds, Connor Rohr secured a 15-0 technical fall at 132 pounds, and Roman Wundrow pinned Jack McCormick in 57 seconds for the victory at 138 pounds, giving the Bombers a 32-0 lead.

Cal McCormick picked up La Crescent’s lone victory on a 7-0 decision at 145 pounds.

Cannon Falls swept the rest of the weight classes, including pinfall wins by Clay Broze at 195 pounds and Cooper Rohloff at 220 pounds. Both teams forfeited at 285 pounds.

The Bombers are back in action Saturday as they host an individual invitational starting at 10 a.m.
