Girls Basketball: Cougars drop fifth straight

Playing in the first round of the St. Charles Invitational on Friday, the Zumbrota-Mazeppa girls basketball team fell in its fifth straight game in a 61-50 loss to Minneapolis Washburn.

Playing in the first round of the St. Charles Invitational on Friday, the Zumbrota-Mazeppa girls basketball team fell in its fifth straight game in a 61-50 loss to Minneapolis Washburn.

Putting the Millers into the win column was junior forward Chase Coley, who scored a game-high 30 points.

Leading the Cougars was Carley Henning, who had 12 points and eight rebounds. Amber Jentsch chipped in with 10 points.

The Cougars (1-7) take on host St. Charles at 3 p.m. today.
