Holiday hours

The Community Ed and Rec office is closed for the week. It will open for regular business hours Jan. 2.

Tae kwon do

Tae kwon do will be taught from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday Dec. 27 for all students. There will not be class Jan. 1.

Elementary basketball

Basketball classes for children in grades 2 through 4 will be 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays at the Burnside Elementary gym. Class will begin Jan. 14 and run for four sessions, with no class Jan. 21. Cost is $11.

Zumba

Zumba will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the Red Wing High School J pod starting Jan. 17. Cost is $70 for the nine-session class. Zumba mixes Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a high-energy fitness program.

Open skating

Open skating will be available at Prairie Island Arena from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the ice season. Weekend skating is available from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Dec. 29 and 3 to 4:15 p.m. Dec. 30. Cost is $3 per skater, and rental skates are available for $3.
