Budget, contracts approved for 2013

The Goodhue County Health and Human Services Board approved the Health and Human Services Department’s 2013 budget of $12,959,063 Tuesday.

Of the revenue expected for 2013, 39.92 percent comes from the county’s property tax levy and 60.08 percent comes from federal funding, state funding and charges or fees.

The expenditures planned for the coming year break down as follows: 18.33 percent for mental health, 36.6 percent for social services, 19.7 percent for income maintenance, 18.55 percent for public health and 6.82 percent for child support. The nearly $13 million budget was increased .64 percent, or $82,054, over last year’s budget.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the board unanimously approved the 2013 contracts and rates for the HHS Department.
