Letter: Don't be quick to judge

To the Editor:

Recently, there was a tragic shooting in the state of Connecticut. According to the media, the person with the weapon suffered from mental illness.

Many people including myself suffer and live with mental illnesses. This does not mean that we go out and shoot people. We are and can be productive members of society.

There are many other factors that lead to shootings.

I at one time lived in Tampa, Fla., and was actually told I wasn’t welcome in a church that I attended because of my illness.

To the media and anyone who is judging this situation: There are probably underlying factors involved.
