A man led police on a high-speed chase along Highway 61 Monday night before fleeing on foot, Red Wing Police Department reported.

A police officer attempted to stop a 2006 Ford Mustang in downtown Red Wing after recognizing the driver as someone who had a revoked license. The Mustang then fled southbound on Highway 61, eventually reaching speeds of 120 mph.

A Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office deputy deployed stop sticks near Frontenac, disabling the vehicle and bringing it to a stop. The driver then fled on foot. Officers were not able to apprehend him.

Police Chief Roger Pohlman said they are confident they know who the driver is.

A 42-year-old woman was a passenger in the vehicle. Pohlman said she is not a suspect and will not be charged with any crimes. She was not injured in the chase.
