Girls Basketball: Lake City holds on against Stewartville

Stewartville came back from 18 points down in the second half to lead with little more than two minutes remaining, but Lake City recovered for a 53-47 victory in Stewartville.

Stewartville came back from 18 points down in the second half to lead with little more than two minutes remaining, but Lake City recovered for a 53-47 victory in Stewartville.

Lake City was up 22-9 at halftime and extended the lead early in the second half. Stewartville responded to go up 47-46 with 2 minutes, 26 seconds left, but did not score the rest of the way.

Madi Green led Lake City (5-2) with 21 points while Taylor Koller provided 18 points and 18 rebounds in the victory.

Liz Waugh and Lizzy Norman each scored 13 points to lead Stewartville (5-2) but Waugh was injured midway through the second half and missed the rest of the game.

Lake City travels to fourth-ranked (2A) Pine Island Tuesday while Stewartville host Rochester Lourdes.
