The No. 2-ranked (1A) Red Wing girls hockey team jumped out to a 4-1 lead and never looked back, cruising to an 8-2 Missota Conference road victory Tuesday against New Prague.

Just 3 minutes, 5 seconds into the contest, Reagan Haley put the Wingers ahead 1-0, but the 11th-ranked Trojans responded little more than four minutes later when Taylor Anderson netted a goal off an assist from Brittany Sticha.

In a 28-second span, the Wingers took firm control of the game, with Haley netting her second goal of the game at 12:05. Then at 12:43, Nicole Schammel buried her first goal of the game for the 3-1 lead.

At 13:51, Haley put in her third goal of the game, securing a hat trick within the first 17 minutes.

Schammel put up a hat trick of her own with a pair of second-period goals to put Red Wing up 6-1 after two. She also added a power-play goal mid-way through the third period, finishing the night with seven points (4 goals, 3 assists).

Reagan Haley had six points (3 goals, 3 assists), and Paige Haley added a goal and a helper in the victory.

Outshooting Red Wing 28-24, New Prague added one more goal, by Jordan Anderson, late in the third period.
