Using some of its less-touted players, the Goodhue girls basketball team moved to 6-1 on the year with a 56-40 home victory over Rochester Lourdes on Tuesday.
Leading the Wildcats was sophomore forward Shelby Hinsch, who had a team-high 14 points.
“Shelby really delivered for us,” said Goodhue head coach Josh Wieme. “She’s coming on for us as of late.”
Leading 25-14 at halftime, three other Wildcat players -- Mikayla Tipcke, Mikayla Miller and Kali Ryan -- each finished in double digits in the victory. Miller also chipped in with six steals and nine rebounds.
Katie Helt led the Eagles with a game-high 16 points, including four 3-pointers. No other Lourdes player finished in double figures.
Goodhue stays at home Friday, hosting Winona Cotter.
