Colwell will speak about the library

The Friends of the Red Wing Library will present Dr. Bruce Colwell at 10 a.m. Saturday Dec. 15 in the Foot Room. Colwell will speak on the “History of the Red Wing Library.”

He has researched this topic over the last few months with assistance from a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant submitted by the Red Wing Public Library and approved by the Red Wing Library Board.

Colwell has more than 30 years of experience in administrative positions in higher education, and he has developed a second career as an historical researcher and writer. His previous writings include a history of the Northfield Public Library, the life and time of Alexander Faribault, and a history of the Carleton College student experience.
