Cannon Falls’ early-season struggled continued on Saturday as the Bombers fell 64-47 to Hayfield during Day 2 of the Maple River Hardwood Classic in Mapleton.

Trailing 40-20 at halftime, Cannon Falls was unable to catch up in the second half, dropping to 0-3 overall.

“Hayfield played well and got off to a fast start in the second half,” said Bombers head coach Josh Davisson. “We came out a little flat and they jumped all over us.”

Leading the way for the Vikings was Brady Kramer, who scored a game-high 18 points. Cole Kruger and Jeremy Stuart both scored in double digits, finishing with 16 and 13, respectively.

Alex Bultena paced Cannon Falls with a team-high 11 points. Jordan Lundell had nine for the Bombers, who faced Stewartville at home on Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.
