Donovan Elroy Kline, 81, of Red Wing, died Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Seminary Home.

Donovan Elroy Kline, 81, of Red Wing, died Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Seminary Home.

He was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Ellsworth, to Melvin and Vivian (Collamore) Kline. He attended schools in Red Wing. On June 28, 1952, he married Arlene Hanson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and following his honorable discharge, he returned to Red Wing. He worked as a mechanic for Pioneer Garage for a number of years and then as a service manager for Tesdall Motors, retiring in 1993. Following his retirement he mowed and worked for River Valley.

He was a member of United Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and racing.

He is survived by one son, Gary (Rosemary) Kline of Red Wing; an uncle, Norville (Joyce) Dumont of Kelly Lake, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene, on Nov. 23, 2010; and his twin brother, Donald.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Bob Iverson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
