Mississippi navigation season ends

Traditionally, the season end is marked by the last tow heading south from Lock & Dam No. 2 near Hastings; the Motor Vessel Show Me State went through Nov. 28. The first tow of the season was March 17, the corps said. Last year’s season ended Dec. 5.
Winter renovations and maintenance work was expected to start Dec. 3 on Lock & Dam No. 6 near Trempealeau, Wis., and are expected to end by March 11.
