Gymnastics: Red Wing takes 3rd at Byron Invite

Red Wing sophomore Irina Anderson placed fifth in the all-around competition Saturday at the Byron Invite to help the Wingers finish third overall.
Anderson scored a 31.15 in the all-around, with a sixth place finish on the floor exercise, third on the uneven bars and fourth on the vault. Red Wing scored a 118.45 as a team.
Junior Carlie Sandstrom took fifth place on the balance beam with a 7.75 for the Wingers and sophomore Morgan Hughes was sixth on the balance beam with a 7.7.
Red Wing is off until Dec. 11 when the Wingers host Farmington at the Red Wing Area Gymnastics Center.
