Decembersongs, a four-member group of award-winning singer/songwriters, will perform its original works at Crossings at Carnegie at 7:30 p.m. Friday Dec. 7.
The Nashville-based Amy Speace, Dan Navarro (of Lowen & Navarro), Grammy-nominee Sally Barris and Grammy-winner Jon Vezner come together for this one-month Christmas music tour.
Speace came up with the idea. They played to appreciative audiences at 11 venues in 2010, he said, and the tour grows larger every year.
All members bring something unique to the table.
“I thought putting together a show that didn't just rework old classics but one that featured really great songwriters who could mostly present new original songs for the holidays — would really play well in December in great listening rooms,” Speace explained.
The group plays in-the-round, with mostly original holiday songs being performed. A disc of these holiday songs by the quartet, entitled “Decembersongs,” will be available for sale at the show.
The set list also includes traditional holiday favorites and some of the artists' non-holiday material.
Tickets are $24 in advance, $26 day of show. To reserve tickets, call 507-732-7616 or stop in to Crossings at 320 East Avenue in Zumbrota. For more information, visit www.crossingsatcarnegie.com.
