Boy accidentally shot by brother

A 9-year-old Pierce County boy was accidentally shot by his 11-year-old brother on Saturday afternoon, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The 11-year-old had been unloading a handgun inside the home on 110th Street, Town of Spring Lake, when the gun went off and a bullet hit his brother in the leg.

The 9-year-old was taken by Spring Valley Ambulance Service to Mayo Menomonie Hospital and later was airlifted to Regions Hospital.
